Poland’s top golf resort has confirmed it will make its debut at this year’s Nordea Masters; Scandinavia’s flagship tournament. Exhibiting under the banner of Golf in West Pomerania, Poland’s top golf course will make its premiere as it prepares to celebrate its fifth anniversary.

One of the top courses in continental Europe, the Gary Player design is Poland’s only signature golf course and is widely praised for its striking and engaging layout. The 18-hole championship course is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a flurry of developments that include the launch of six new one-bedroom guest suites that join three stylish on-site self-catering cottages that opened last year.

The new guest suites have been designed for couples or individuals eager to sample the challenge and beauty of Poland’s top golf course. In addition, eco shelters with toilet facilities have been constructed on the course and a new sleek road running through the property is being built alongside upgraded golf cart paths.

“The first five years at Modry Las have been incredible,” said Pamela Gromadzki, the resort’s international marketing director, “but we know we cannot sit on our laurels. That is why we are continuing with our investment programme in order to make Modry Las a luxurious, thriving and sustainable community.”

Located in West Pomerania which is a convenient ferry trip from the Swedish port of Ystad, Modry Las is proving particularly popular with Scandinavian golfers. “Swedish golfers especially enjoy our course because of the challenge it presents,” says Gromadzki. “Gary Player’s design is certainly striking to look at, but it also tests their skills and course management. We are adding to this experience with our second, nine-hole course that will also test their short-game technique. With 27 holes to choose from and new on-site accommodation, Modry Las is entering an exciting phase.”

Perhaps the most significant development at Modry Las will be the completion of the nine-hole Orli Las course, which is due to open in spring 2015. This championship course in miniature has been routed through a stunning peninsula with a lakeside forest providing incredible vistas to infinity greens. In addition, Poland’s leading golf pro, Peter Bronson, is also based at Modry Las and offers lessons and clinics from his course-side academy. Bronson, who signed for Poland’s lowest ever round (63), was the winner of Poland’s 2013 Order of Merit.

“As we grow and improve our offering at Modry Las, so do our clients expectations,” noted Gromadzki. “Our objective is to create an international resort and community that provides a unique place to enjoy the challenge of the fairways and the beauty of the countryside. Our new guest suites and golf course are important steps on the road towards this goal.”
